So I updated to Marshmallow today after ignoring the update for awhile. It seems like every update brings its own issues and sometime they’re more hassle than they’re worth, at least at first. I finally decided to go ahead with it today because I read several reports from people who also have the Turbo 2 that the update appeared stable and there weren’t any real issues. I was at work and didn’t mind being without my phone for a half hour while it did its thing, but this also meant it was on silent. I’m not sure if this played a role, but after the update I realized my DROID Turbo 2 was stuck in Total Silence mode.
How to fix DROID Turbo 2 Stuck in Total Silence Mode
Quick and Easy Solution with Just the Push of a Button
Clicking on the Total Silence icon and even End Now had no effect. I googled around and found plenty of suggestions but nothing was helping. After quite a bit of frustration I began jabbing at the volume up button, very scientific of course, and accidentally hit the volume down. This moved the phone into the Alarms Only Mode.
Once it was in Alarms Only I was able to press the End Now button and it worked. I was then able to turn my volume back up with zero issue. Huzzah! Sometimes randomly fidgeting with something does produce desirable results, but even if it didn’t I probably still would.
With just the push of a button I managed to fix my DROID Turbo 2 that was stuck in Total Silence Mode! This saved me a trip to the Verizon store or a call to tech support. I wish I’d found this solution before I spent time clearing caches.
