Main Quest Line
Claire, my twin sister, and I flew back to Virginia to visit family. We had to be at Houston Intercontinental at 5:30am to make our 7:30am flight, so I was dragging quite a bit until we were able to hit the Starbucks on the other side of TSA. Claire, however, was doing great. She was bright eyed and excited by the early morning buzz of the airport. We flew Spirit for the first time which honestly ended up being a lot better than I thought it would be. It was super cheap but their carry on restrictions are a little harsh. You don’t get a free carry on, you get a free 16x12x10 “personal item” and then anything else you carry on or check you have to pay for. We only paid $150 for our round trip tickets so I’m not arguing baggage fees because that’s an insanely good price, but I also wasn’t interested in pay extra for bags. So I ordered these super cute little bags from Vooray. Claire picked the chambray one and I got a cute dark floral one. They were under the Spirit max size (I wanted to play it safe) but they were actually quite roomy and very sturdy. I packed them very full, especially on the way back. Very nice price as well, as they’re half what I was going to pay for a similar product from Herschel Supply Co.
More soccer in April, of course. Claire is doing so well. She’s so fast on the field. In one of her games last month she managed to recover the ball from the other team and then dribbled it all the way up field to score a goal. For having never played soccer before she does very well in every game and is getting better and better. I was a little worried about her playing soccer because she tends to get bored of things quickly, but as I suspected soccer is just quick enough that she stays busy enough to not get bored but not too difficult that she’d be discouraged. We missed a few games and practices what with the travelling and the ridiculous flooding we got here in Houstonbut she has been practicing with her ball and net in the backyard and is very excited for the rest of the season.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens Drops
Much excite! We had preordered it on Vudu months in advance, so as soon as we were notified it was available it was playing it on both of the downstairs TVs and at least one tablet. We watched it with the kids, repeatedly. We watched it while doing (tons and tons and tons of) laundry. We even watched it while wearing our Darth Vader and Storm Trooper snuggies! Yes those are totally a thing in this house. Santa brought Logan a Darth Vader snuggie and Andrew and my brother-in-law Will Storm Trooper snuggies. They’re pretty darn great.
Kids Be Crazy
Julia still loves Indian food, a lot. Logan was pretty excited about Captain America: Civil War, and pretty obvious about which side he was on. Andrew got me some “just because” flowers one weekend in April , and at one of Claire’s soccer games Logan picked me a clover. I’m not particularly sentimental but it’s nice to get flowers from some cool guys.
