Last Saturday we went to Sinkland Farms with some friends and had a blast visiting the pumpkin patch and picking out a giant pumpkin!

It’s less than 9 weeks ’til Christmas! I love the holiday season but there is always so much to do. This year we have a super busy November so I’m doing my best to get all of the holiday prep done early. I’ve already moved all of our Christmas and Thanksgiving decorations to the front of the storage closet and I even started shopping for gifts back in September. Right now I’m working on our Christmas cards, one of the big to-dos!

The last two years I’ve gotten photo Christmas cards from Shutterfly and I absolutely love them. I even used them for Claire and Logan’s birth announcements. Always great printing quality and tons of awesome designs to choose from.

Shutterfly has literally hundreds of awesome designs, and there’s a card to fit anyone’s taste. If you’re interested in bright or whimsical cards like me I’d recommend the Winter Whimsy Wishes or the Tree of Wishes cards!

Thanks to Shutterfly three (3) of you can win 25 free holiday cards as well! It’s easy to enter and the last day to enter will be 11/9. Winners will be drawn on 11/10.

I love to bake, but I’m also super lazy. I saw a recipe for 2-ingredient pumpkin spice muffins on Pinterest that stuck in my brain so I decided to try it out. I chose to use eggs after mixing the first two ingredients and getting some pretty thick batter, they turned out perfectly light and fluffy so I’m happy.

Ingredients

  • Box of Spice Cake mix
  • 15oz can of pumpkin
  • 3 large eggs (or however many your box of cake calls for)

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°.
  2. Put all of your ingredients into a medium bowl.

We need a new duvet cover for the new bed we’re getting soon and I am totally stuck. I suck at choosing things but I can’t let Andrew choose or we’d end up with a black duvet cover, black sheets and black pillowcases and just for good measure let’s paint the walls black. Seriously, you’d think the guy was allergic to patterns and afraid of color. I, on the other hand, love every bedspread ever.

I’m pretty sure someone could make that into a sitcom. Andrew and I sitting up in our too small bed with a laptop while he says “no” to every single duvet Macy’s, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, Belk and Dillard’s has. Of course I’m the one that’s deciding each one we see is totally the one, until we see the next one, then oh wait no, this is the one. Sweet meat cone on a stick, Lord&Taylor has a home section now, THOSE ARE ALL THE ONES!

It’s really funny when Andrew asks me what a duvet is. Every five minutes. Or tells me he doesn’t like the pillows. We’re not shopping for pillows, the pillows don’t matter, we don’t have to get the pillows, we just care about the duvet cover. What’s a duvet? Another word for comforter. And the duvet cover… Covers our comforter. Why can’t we just use the comforter? Because, shut up.

Ugh, whatever. Someone else pick out our duvet cover.
